Salary: $90,000 – $150,000 per year (DOE) + Per Diem + Company Truck + Benefits


Traveling Superintendent – Site Development

Heavy Road & Rail Inc. is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead fast-paced parking lot and site development projects throughout the western United States.

This position is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in a fast-track environment and has experience coordinating multiple trades including grading, concrete, underground utilities, electrical, and striping.

The successful candidate will oversee field operations from mobilization through final turnover while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations on site development projects
  • Supervise grading, paving, concrete, electrical, drainage, and striping subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, deliveries, and subcontractors
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA standards
  • Maintain project documentation including daily reports, photos, inspections, and production tracking
  • Coordinate inspections with local agencies and project owners
  • Ensure work meets contract documents and quality standards
  • Identify and solve field issues before they impact schedule
  • Work closely with Project Managers on budgets, production, and change orders
  • Maintain excellent communication with owners, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Lead project turnover and punch list completion

Qualifications

  • 7+ years as a Superintendent on heavy civil or commercial site development projects
  • Experience managing multiple construction trades simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Site grading
    • Concrete paving
    • Curb & gutter
    • Sidewalks
    • Underground utilities
    • Electrical site work
    • Parking lot striping
    • ADA improvements
  • Ability to read civil plans and specifications
  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Willing to travel extensively

  • Distribution centers
  • Warehouse developments
  • Large parking lots
  • Tilt-up industrial projects
  • Retail developments
  • Design-build site work

Travel

This is a 100% traveling position.

Projects are located throughout the western United States.
